ISLAMABAD: A technology park has been launched at the premises of Amazon Outlet Mall to facilitate the IT industry in the country, a statement said on Wednesday.
IMARAT Group of Companies launched the “Amazon Software Technology Park” at a groundbreaking event attended by government officials and members of the group’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, the main guest, the Minister of Informatics and Telecommunications, Mr. Syed Amin-ul-Haque, said that the park would “unlock future avenues of substantial activities, while adding a great value to the knowledge pool “.
Celebrating this milestone, IMARAT Group Chairman, Mr. Shafiq Akbar, discussed the group’s vision to adapt to modern technologies, stating: “Amazon Outlet Mall is now a state-of-the-art technology park, offering an excellent and modern working environment. “
The initiative provides opportunities that would enrich the national knowledge economy and ensure the growth of the IT industry, he added.
Also present at the event, the Managing Director of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Osman Nasir, was of the opinion that the country’s IT industry had achieved expansion and export growth with Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore becoming the main technological poles of the country. growth phase focuses on secondary and tertiary cities while supporting the growth of start-ups and independents in this sector, ”he said.
