Recap: Wizards earn decisive win over Pacers on Friday night

The Wizards rebounded from their loss on Wednesday with a convincing 97-79 victory over the Pacers on Friday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas in their fourth Summer League game. A record 21-point performance from Jordan Schakel spearheaded Washington’s victory. Jordan Schakel (F) – Closing out the contest as the Wizards’ leading scorer, Schakel returned to the form that saw him score a game-high 24 points in Washington’s Summer League opener against the Pistons. Schakel again led the way against the Pacers, scoring 21 points on 7-12 (.583) effective shooting. Excelling in his role as one of Washington’s leading offensive creators, Schakel had his highest assist tally in the Summer League, delivering five cents to go along with his record-breaking performance.

Jaime Echenique (C) – Washington’s most effective force inside, Echenique was dominant on the glass, grabbing eight total rebounds, including four offensively. Echenique was also a valuable defensive presence, registering a record three blocked shots.

Isaiah Todd (F) – Showing growth from his previous Summer League appearances, Todd played an efficient full game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Todd was also the Wizards’ most effective threat from deep, making three of his seven 3-point attempts.

Jordan Goodwin (G) – Nearly matching his impressive 20-point performance against the Pistons in the Summer League opener in Washington, Goodwin proved to be an X-factor once again, scoring 14 of his 19 points in an explosive outburst at the third quarter that helped secure the victory for the Wizards.
