It’s over for the Under Armor Factory House store in the Wind Creek Bethlehem Outlets; a store that sold the popular brand of sportswear, shoes, hats and accessories for men and women.
On Friday, the store at the mall’s casino level appeared to be permanently closed. Its windows were blacked out and its sign had been removed, though the store’s exterior signage remained and it was still listed in Wind Creek’s online outlet directory.
There was no sign on the store door to alert customers to what had happened and it was unclear whether the Bethlehem Under Armor store had recently closed, but it was open at the start of the month, nothing was indicating that it would soon be closed.
It does not appear that the store closure is part of a larger effort by the company to streamline its operations, although an Under Armor store in downtown Detroit also closed recently, according to an article published by the Detroit. News earlier this month.
Foot traffic inside Wind Creek outlets was light Friday night, and at least one other store — Tommy Hilfiger — had closed early, according to a sign taped to its door.
The mall recently welcomed a new tenant: Angry Jack’s Ax Throwing Club. The ax throwing business opened late last year and is one of many businesses currently operating in the Lehigh Valley area.
Other businesses located at Wind Creek outlets include Beef Jerky Outlet, Carlo’s Bakery, Coach, Chico’s Outlet, Corningware, DKNY, Famous Footwear Outlet, GUESS Factory Store, Michael Kors, Steel Magnolia Spa & Salon and Talbots Outlet, according to the directory. .
Several miles away, in the Promenade Shops of Saucon Valley, other national chains have abandoned their local presence in recent months, with New Balance and Plow & Hearth closing their stores in the Upper Saucon Township lifestyle hub late 2021.

However, the Promenade Shops have also welcomed several new tenants and plan to welcome several more in the coming months. One of these new ventures, Lashes by Gab, will be hosting a grand opening and inauguration event on Saturday, February 5 at 2 p.m.
With the closure of the Under Armor Outlet in Bethlehem, the closest Under Armor stores to the Lehigh Valley are now located at Philadelphia Premium Outlets near Limerick and Crossings Premium Outlets in Tannersville.
