Windsor Police are renewing their appeal for information regarding a suspicious person investigation in Amherstburg, Ontario.

Windsor Police have released a photo of the vehicle believed to be involved in a suspicious person investigation in Amherstburg.

Police are actively investigating after it was reported that a young girl was intentionally followed between 4.40pm and 5pm on Monday by a grown man.

She first noticed that she was being followed by a slow moving vehicle in the Richmond Street area near Sandwich Street.

According to police, at some point the man left the vehicle and began following the girl on foot. She eventually fled the area until she lost sight of him.

Police have since obtained CCTV footage of the suspect vehicle which is described as a dark colored Ford pickup truck with black rims and tow mirrors (extended side mirrors).

Investigators previously asked nearby residents to check their footage for a blue Chevrolet Silvarado pickup. Residents are now being asked to recheck their images with the Ford pickup in mind.

Police described the suspect as a white male in his 40s, tall and very thin with buzzing gray hair and no facial hair. He wore prescription glasses, a burgundy shirt and blue shorts.

Investigators continue to ask residents for any information that may help identify the vehicle or suspect.
